...to the website of the Gallows Bank Millennium Green Trust and Friends.

As the name implies, this area of roughly 5 hectares of grassland and tree cover used to be the site of Ludlow's public hangings. Saved from housing development in 1998 it is now protected as a Millennium Green.

 

With fine open views across Ludlow to Bringewood and beyond the ground  is well used by local residents for walks or as a space for quiet reflection amidst natural surroundings and occasionally for organised events such as an annual firework display.

 

The purpose of this website is to tell you a little of the history, purposes and management of the Bank. It also offers you ways of supporting the Trust by joining the Friends, or assisting  in occasional volunteer working parties.
